Police search for Md. man charged with killing girlfriend

ANNE ARUNDEL CO., Md. – Anne Arundel County Police are searching for a man they say killed his girlfriend Sunday.

According to police, officers arrived in the 1700 block of Carry Place in Crofton, Maryland around 9:24 p.m. on Sunday after reports of domestic violence. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from apparent trauma inside the residence. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Police have identified the victim as Jhalandia Elaine Butler, 28. Her body has been sent to the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have determined the suspect in the case to be Ryan Gregory Hollebon, 38. According to officials, Hollebon fled on foot before the police arrived on the scene. Police conducted an extensive search that included helicopter, K-9 units, and multiple patrol units, but they were unable to locate the suspect. After a preliminary investigation, officers determined that Butler and Hollebon were in a relationship.

According to officials, with the help of witnesses, police obtained an arrest warrant for Ryan Hollebon, charging him first degree murder, as well as other related charges. At this time, police do not believe this to be a random act.
