One still unaccounted for in Rockville fire

ROCKVILLE, Md. – Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services say that one occupant is unaccounted for after a single-family home in Rockville Thursday night.

According to officials, the fire started in a two story house in the 16100 block of Willow Lane. When firefighters arrived, the fire was heavy and described as “fully involved.” Fire officials tweeted that the firefighters on the scene used “blitz attack” approach to fighting the fire. The fire led to partial structural collapse and brush fires started in the area around the house. Nearly 75 firefighters were on the scene, battling the blaze and.

Fire officials say that 2400 square foot house is a total loss. At this time, the sole occupant of the house is not accounted for. Officials say that investigators will resume their work at daylight.
