PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Police have arrested two men who they say are guilty in the August 2016 ambush and fatal shooting of Douglas Brooks, 18.

Brooks was a up-an-coming local rapper who went by ‘Swipey’. He was struck by multiple bullets after four or five suspects rushed him outside the 3600 block of Parkway Terrace Drive on Aug. 21.

Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police investigation over the last six months led them to arrest and charged Dante Brewer, 19, and Deshawn Watkins, 18, in this homicide. Both men, like Brooks, are from D.C.

Police believe Watkins and Brewer intended to rob Brooks and others who were attending a party at the apartment complex where the shooting happened. Detectives also believe there are still additional suspects.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call their Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
