Police investigate after pedestrian killed in Prince George’s, firearm recovered on scene

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. -- Around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, police responded to reports of a pedestrian who had been struck and killed.

The accident took place in the 5000 block of Brown Station Road. Investigators said a man was run over by an SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Detectives said a weapon was recovered at the scene.

As of Monday evening, they were still working to figure out if and how the firearm played a role.  And police were still investigating the relationships between the people involved and the possible motive.
