WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police have arrested two men after they got into a verbal altercation at a liquor store in Southeast that led to them assaulting each other with bricks and a shotgun.

The two men, who police identify as Defendants Stammard and Grear, began arguing in the store on Pennsylvania Avenue. Stammard asked Grear to take the fight outside, at which point they started spitting at each other.

At this point, Stammard threw two containers of alfredo sauce at Grear. A coworker of Grear handed him a shotgun, which he pointed at Stammard. Stammard fled, came back, threw a brick at Grear’s windshield, which shattered.

Grear heard the noise, ran back outside and saw the damage to his vehicle, then drove to find Stammard and threw a brick at him.

Grear was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon (the brick), assault with a dangerous weapon (the gun), unlawful possession of a firearm and of ammunition, and driving on a revoked license.

Stammard was arrested for destruction of property and simple assault.
