SEAT PLEASANT, MD — Police are investigating a homicide that occurred outside a Seat Pleasant gas station around noon on Tuesday.

Seat Pleasant police were called to the Exxon at the corner of Addison Rd. and Central Ave. for a report of a fight outside the gas station. When officers arrived they found an African-American man injured in the parking lot.

“We do not know if it was a stab wound, cutting wound or blunt object,” said Seat Pleasant Police Chief Devan Martin. “We do not believe it’s random. There’s several witnesses that have been interviewed.”

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries.

The victim’s identity has not been released and no suspect or suspects have been named.

Because the case is a homicide, the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) is leading the investigation. A spokesperson for the department told DCW50 News at 10 that more information about the case may be released late Tuesday or on Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the PGPD Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477, text “PGPD plus your message” to 274637, or go to www.pgcrimesolvers.com.
