Ben’s Chili Bowl wants help finding the next face for their mural

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Do you have some ideas about who should be the next public figure to get immortalized on Ben's Chili Bowl's famous mural wall?

The owners are trying to decide who the next mural should be of, and they'd like some help from locals. They originally began commissioning the mural to do something to entertain their crowds of customers who often have to wait in line to eat at the famed restaurant.

Recent political events and shifts in pop culture have made the owners think it was time for a change in the artwork.

There are dozens of options for individual faces on the mural, as well as options for a combination of 4 to 6 people. The combination slates include groups like "Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Desmond Tutu" and an all-female option of "Michelle Obama, Dorothy Height, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Angela Davis, Alice Walker" which the owners say has been popular.

You can also nominate an individual figure or a group that isn't listed. Head over to their website to vote for your pick!
