Man arrested after ramming stolen car into several others

WASHINGTON, D.C. – According to the Metropolitan Police Department, a man was arrested after crashing a stolen Mercedes SUV into multiple vehicles, including several police vehicles. This incident occurred in the 1700 block of H Street, Northeast.

The police report states that officers observed a 2015 black Mercedes SUV traveling westbound in the 2600 block of Benning Road, Northeast around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The officers were able to confirm that the car had been stolen. While in the 1700 block of H Street, Northeast, the car struck a Metropolitan Police Department scout car, three unmarked Prince George’s County police cruisers, as well as several other parked vehicles. Eventually, the car crashed into a traffic signal at the intersection of 17th Street and Benning Road. Police were able to take the driver into custody a short time later.

Police have identified the driver as 25-year-old Michael Anthony Burwell.
