WASHINGTON, DC —  The District is known to be a vibrant city filled with events happening every day.  DCW50 put together a list of a few activities to check out on your free time.

Thursday:  The National Zoo gets a makeover for the holidays.  Zoolights started in Thanksgiving and runs through New Year’s day with the exception for December 24 and 25. The walk through lasts until 9 p.m.

Saturday:  ‘Tis the season of giving, and what a better way than to buy local. The Downtown Holiday Market is between 8th and F Streets, NW, near the Verizon Center. The market has a rotating cast of crafters and vendors, hot coffee, sweets and performances. It’s open daily from 12 to 8 p.m.

Sunday:   Feeling  like continuing the Christmas spirit, then head over to the President’s Park at 8 p.m. to check out the National Tree Lighting. There will be live music performances. This event is free.
