High winds doing damage in DC, MD and VA

WASHINGTON, D.C. —  Montgomery County, DC, Frederick County and others have issued wind advisories this weekend for dangerous gusts that have been close to 50 mph.

A large tree branch struck a vehicle in Montgomery County this morning, and although no one was injured, serious damage was done to a car and caused a fuel spill. Some lanes were closed in response.

Another woman in Montgomery County was struck and injured by another falling tree branch while walking in a wooded area.

People in Frederick, Montgomery County and DC are reporting power outages due to the wind.
