Fairfax County man sets girlfriend on fire, flees

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police say a man is on the run after setting his girlfriend on fire early Saturday morning in the Alexandria home they shared.

Lewis Reeder appears to have set fire to his girlfriend after an argument, and then escaped their home. The fire spread and caused a house fire. The victim is a 64-year-old woman who is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crime took place in 4900 Keeler Court, and police and fire responded around 1:40 a.m. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in finding Reeder. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Needels at 571-221-8131.
