LANDOVER, MD — Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) announced an arrest and charges related to an early Sunday morning shooting in Capitol Heights that killed two teens and injured four others.
Police said Bravon Freeman, 22, of Southeast, D.C. was arrested on the scene and has been charged with first- and second-degree murder related to the death of Todd Webb, Jr., 14.
Police said the shooting occurred outside an apartment complex where a dice game was being played, when around 2:45 a.m., a person or people shot at the crowd.
"This investigation is a very large investigation because in the course of the initial shooting, five, maybe even all six of the shooting individuals, were struck,” said PGPD Major Robert Brewer, Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division. Brewer said Brian Davis, 18, was killed in this initial shooting and Freeman is not charged with his death. However, he alleged that Freeman acted shortly after the first shooting. "A short time later, we discovered that Mr. Freeman shot Mr. Webb and than began to assault Mr. Webb after shooting him."
Police said they are still trying to figure what caused the initial shooting.
"We’re still trying to identify the two suspects, the one or two suspects that shot into the initial game and also motive for the case."
