Police investigate sexual assault in Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a sexual assault that occurred early Monday morning. Officials say the incident happened in the area of Kings Highway and Sherwood Forest Farm Road.

According to officials, between 2:45 a.m. and 3:15 a.m., the victim’s car was struck by another as both vehicles were traveling eastbound. After the accident, the male suspect removed the victim from her car and dragged her into a ditch where he sexually assaulted her over a two hour period. Once the suspect left the area, the victim went back to her car and called 911 from her cell phone. At that time, a Stafford County Deputy arrived at the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, around 30 years old. He’s between 5’8″ and 5’9,” weighing around 170 to 180 pounds. He’s described as having black hair and a short black beard. He was last seen wearing light blue jeans and a sleeveless white tank top under an orange, blue, and white plaid, long-sleeved shirt. He spoke Spanish and broken English. His vehicle is described as a dark colored SUV. He left the scene in his vehicle and traveled eastbound on Kings Highway (Route 3). Officials say that there might be orange paint transfer and damage to the passenger side front quarter panel and/or the front end of this vehicle.

Officials say the investigation is currently ongoing and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in this sexual assault.
