Loudoun woman arrested for pouring cleaning liquid into coworker’s coffee

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — A Sterling woman was arrested today after her coworkers told their boss she had been pouring a cleaning fluid into their coffee maker.

The suspect, Mayda Rivera-Juarez, 32, is said to have poured the cleaner into her coworker’s coffee over several weeks. Several of her fellow employees have been ill since then.

Rivera-Juarez was arrested Friday and charged with felony assault (adulteration of food or drug with intent). She is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
