PGPD arrests Upper Marlboro day care employee for child abuse

PRINCE GEORGE’s, CO – The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested 25-year-old D’Aira Nichel Thompson in connection with the physical child abuse of a 3-year-old boy at a day care in Upper Marlboro.

Thompson, has been charged with Second Degree Child Abuse, and Second Degree Assault.

The preliminary investigation revealed on October 18th, at approximately 8:00 am while working Thompson was attempting to restrain the Victim in a chair. During the struggle Thompson told the boy to lay his head down and slammed the boy’s head on the table. The Victim suffered a contusion to the right side of his head. Thompson is the Victims teacher.
