Parents charged in the murder of infant son

GREENBELT, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested a man and a woman in connection with the murder of their infant son.

According to police, on October 17th, family members notified officers that Geneice Petty, 24, and her 3-month-old son, Antoine Flemons, were missing. Detectives were able to locate Geneice Petty and 32-year-old Antoine Petty on October 18th. Interviews revealed that Antoine Petty admitted to assaulting his son, resulting in the child’s death. Both Geneice and Antoine admitted that they buried the infant in an effort to conceal the crime. Police say the suspects led detectives to a shallow grave in the Riverdale area where they discovered the remains of the child.

Officials say that Antoine Petty is charged with first and second degree murder, and Geneice Petty is charged with being an accessory after the fact. They are currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
