BALTIMORE, Md. — The Fraternal Order of Police, a law enforcement organization consisting of over two thousand local chapters, endorsed Donald Trump for President back in September. But the Maryland chapter will not follow suit.

Maryland’s FOP has dissented from joining other state police unions in endorsing Trump for president. After a vote at their statewide conference in August, board member Darryl Jones said that the organization’s more than 400 members “overwhelmingly” accepted a motion to not endorse any candidate for president.

The national FOP represents about 330,000 members, 20,000 of which are in Maryland.
