Officials: Crash involving Metrobus leaves at least one dead

UPDATE: Police say that all road closures on Suitland Parkway are now open.


WASHINGTON, DC –  Fire officials say that at least one person is dead after a crash involving a Metrobus on Suitland Parkway.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, D.C. Fire and EMS reported to a crash between a vehicle and a Metrobus on Suitland Parkway near Stanton Road in Southeast, D.C. Officials say that one person was dead on arrival, one was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, while two others were transported with non-life threatening injuries.  D.C. Fire and EMS also say that they sent out a hazmat unit to deal with a fuel leak from the Metrobus.

Police are now investigating the crash.

At this time, Suitland Parkway is closed between Stanton Road and Firth Sterling due to the crash.
