FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosted one of their Out of the Darkness community walks tonight in Fairfax, which was attended by members of the Fairfax County government.

Sharon Bulova, chairman of the county’s board of supervisors, and Fire Chief Richard Bowers were both at the walk, supporting the participants.

The walk began at the Fairfax County Government Center and took a 5k path that looped around the center. The walkers are sponsored, as well as the walk itself, and the funds go to the AFSP.

A breakdown of how the funds are used can be found here.
