UPDATE: Missing Prince William woman and infant found

UPDATE: According to the Prince William County Police Department, both Alyssa Childs and her son Josiah Reece have been located and are safe.

MANASSAS, Va. – The Prince William County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing, endangered woman and infant, Alyssa Shantice Childs and Josiah Gabriel Reece.

According to officials, police responded to the 9500 block of Fairview Avenue in Manassas, Virginia to investigate a missing person on Tuesday around 11:48 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that Childs voluntarily left her home in the 7600 block of Cass Place around 7:00 p.m. that evening. Police say she was seen getting into her car with her child, Josiah. Police believe that Childs may be in need of assistance, thus qualifying her to be listed as endangered. Police are also concerned for the child’s welfare.

Alyssa Shantice Childs is described as a 27-year old black female, around 5’4″ and weighing 190 pounds. Josiah Gabriel Reece is described as a 7-month old black male with brown eyes and short black hair. There is no information on what either were last seen wearing. Childs was last seen getting into a silver Volkswagen Minivan with unknown Virginia temporary plates.
