Washington Nationals to honor D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  The Washington Nationals will honor Metropolitan Police Department Chief of Police Cathy Lanier at the Labor Day game on Monday, September 5th.

In recognition of her more than nine years of service, Lanier will deliver the game ball to the game’s starting pitcher. There will also be a pregame ceremony that will include the lineup card delivery by Commander Jeffery Carroll, Special Operation Division, and the the Play Ball announcement by Captain Robert Glover, Special Operation Division. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department will line the field during the ceremony.

The Labor Day game will feature the Washington Nationals playing against the Atlanta Braves. That game is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
