PG Detectives make arrest in the death of Erik Kelly

PRINCE GEORGE’S CO – The Homicide Unit arrested the suspect in connection with a homicide in Bladensburg. The suspect is 40-year-old Kumalo Ealom of Hampton Hallows in Silver Spring. He’s charged with fatally shooting 26-year-old Erik Kelly of District Heights.

On August 1st, at about 12:30 pm, officers with the Bladensburg Police Department were called to the 4600 block of Red Hawk Terrace for a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Kelly outside in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives established Ealom as the suspect through investigative techniques. Ealom is charged with first and second degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
