Police investigate homicide of elderly Maryland woman

WHEATON, MD – The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in Wheaton, Maryland on Wednesday. The incident took place in the 2700 block of Arcola Avenue.

According to officials, police arrived in the area around 4:19 p.m. on Wednesday, after receiving reports of a suspicious situation. When they arrived, they found the deceased victim, Linda Cheryl Johnson, 72, in her home. The officers also found evidence of trauma to her body.

Police say that on Thursday, the Medical Examiner’s office in Baltimore ruled the manner of Linda Cheryl Johnson’s death to be a homicide.
