D.C. Police investigate homicide on 1-295

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on I-295, headed Southbound, near the Firth Sterling Avenue overpass. The incident took place on Saturday.

Officials say that around 2:28 a.m. on Saturday morning, police responded to reports of gunshots in the area. When they arrived on the scene, they found two adult male victims inside of a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. On Sunday, one of the victims, Judonne Stephens, 25, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
