Prince George’s Co. police investigate train/vehicle collision

PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., MD – Prince George’s County police are investigating a collision involving a car and a train.

According to the preliminary investigation,  the driver stopped on the tracks during a traffic back up and the train was unable to stop in time. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no injuries reported from train passengers. According to the preliminary investigation,  the driver stopped on the tracks during a traffic back up and the train was unable to stop in time. According to Prince George’s County PD tweets, the crash happened in the 5800 block of Sunnyside Avenue in Beltsville.

The 5800 block of Sunnyside Avenue is currently closed in both directions.
