Police seek public’s help in identifying suspect in sexual assault

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a sexual abuse offense that occurred on Saturday at 17th Street and K Street, Northwest.

Police report that on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., a woman was sitting near the corner of 17th Street and K Street when she was approached by the suspect who sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 25 and 28. He was approximately 5’3″ in height and was wearing a blue and white striped button-down shirt and black pants.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.
