SoberRide offering free rides home on July 4

WASHINGTON, DC – Don’t drink and drive this Fourth of July.  If you go out and need a ride home, The Washington Regional Alcohol Program’s 2016 Independence Day SoberRide program will be offering free rides throughout the region.

The program will be offered from 10 p.m. Monday, July 4 until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5. You must be 21 or older to use the SoberRide service.

WRAP’s SoberRide , called one of the nation’s most successful free cab ride programs for would-be impaired drivers, has helped to ensure greater Washington, DC residents have a safe way home on high-risk holidays. Since 1991, WRAP has dispatched over 65,116 safe rides home.  Currently, SoberRide operates during the December/January holiday season, St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Independence Day and Halloween.soberride
