Police arrest suspects from 2006 assault of 5-year-old girl

PRINCE WILLIAM CO., – Two suspects have been arrested in connection to the sexual assault of a five-year-old girl that occurred 2006, police say.

On June 24, police responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in 2006 at a residence in Woodbridge. According to police, an investigation revealed that the victim, then a 5-year-old girl, was sexually assaulted by two family members on more than one occasion. The victim recently disclosed the assaults and police were contacted.

The suspects were identified as Edwin Torres Diaz, 27, and Yoni Torres Diaz, 26. Edwin Torres Diaz has been charged with aggravated sexual battery and forcible sodomy. Yoni Torres Diaz has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Both suspects were arrested on Wednesday and are being held without bond.
