PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD - Prince George's County Police are looking for a man who tried to pull a young child out of his bedroom window early Tuesday morning.
"It’s real disturbing. My son is traumatized and I’m just hoping something happen. You know, that they get the person that did this," said the seven-year-old boy's father, whom DCW is not identifying.
The incident happened around 3:45 a.m. at a home on the 5900 block of L Street in the Fairmount Heights neighborhood.
The boy's father, who was at work when this happened, said at first his son thought it was his uncle trying to pull him through the window and started yelling. This woke his mother, who then noticed that the boy's uncle, her brother, was asleep in his bed.
"But she seen the guy run off the front. So all the time, she was thinking it was her brother, but it was the predator," said the father.
The suspect is described as an African-American man, 6'0" and about 300 pounds.
Police believe this was an isolated incident, but they, and the boy's father, urge other parents to be vigilant.
"Keep your windows locked and watch over your kids. And keep them updated about strangers," said the father.
