WASHINGTON, D.C. - This weekend's Opening Act is Griffith Kazmierczak, performing at Twins Jazz in Northwest, D.C. as part of the DC Jazz Festival's Jazz in the Hoods series. Kazmierczak is accompanied by Nathan Reising on piano, Ele Rubenstein on drums, and Nathan Kawaller on bass.

Griffith Kazmierczak is a trumpet player in the D.C. area, though he hails from Buffalo, New York. After attending the University of Maryland, Kazmierczak has become a sought after jazz musician, not only for playing the trumpet, but the violin as well. He was selected as one of the Strathmore's Artist in Residence for the 2015-2016 season.
