Severe weather expected throughout DMV

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Severe weather is expected throughout Thursday evening in parts of the District, as well as parts of Maryland and Virginia. Here are the most up-to-date warnings and watches for the area.

District of Columbia:

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the entirety of the District of Columbia until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the entirety of the District of Columbia until 10:00 p.m.

Maryland:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for the following counties: Allegany and Washington. That will be in effect until 7:30 p.m.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the following areas: Anne Arundel; Carroll; Central and Eastern Allegany; Central and Southeast Howard; Central and Southeast Montgomery; Extreme Western Allegany; Frederick; Northern Baltimore; Northwest Howard; Northwest Montgomery; Prince Georges; Southern Baltimore; Washington. That will be in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the following areas: Allegany; Anne Arundel; Baltimore; Baltimore City; Carroll; Charles; Frederick; Harford; Howard; Montgomery; Prince Georges; St. Marys; Washington. That will be in effect until 10:00 p.m.

Virginia:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for the following areas:City of Fairfax; City of Manassas; City of Manassas Park; Fairfax; Fauquier; Loudoun; Prince William. That will be in effect until 7:15 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for the following areas: Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria; Clarke; Culpeper; Eastern Loudoun; Fairfax; Frederick; Madison; Northern Fauquier; Northern Virginia Blue Ridge; Page; Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park; Rappahannock; Rockingham; Shenandoah; Southern Fauquier; Warren; Western Loudoun. That will be in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the following areas: Albemarle; Arlington; Augusta; City of Alexandria; City of Charlottesville; City of Fairfax; City of Falls Church; City of Fredericksburg; City of Harrisonburg; City of Manassas; City of Manassas Park; City of Staunton; City of Waynesboro; City of Winchester; Clarke; Culpeper; Fairfax; Fauquier; Frederick; Greene; Highland; King George; Loudoun; Madison; Nelson; Orange; Page; Prince William; Rappahannock; Rockingham; Shenandoah; Spotsylvania; Stafford; Warren. That will be in effect until 10:00 p.m.
