Police investigate Maryland fatal shooting

TEMPLE HILLS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday morning. The incident occurred in the 4800 block of Stamp Road in Temple Hills, Maryland.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the 4800 block of Stamp Road around 1:25 a.m. Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found the victim, 48-year-old Edward Payne, in a parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

After an initial investigation, police do not believe that this was a random crime. Currently, detectives are working to identify a motive and the suspect or suspects involved in this case.
