Washington DC — Now that everyone has had their fill of burgers and hot dogs and dealt with the swell of visitors to the District that Memorial Day weekend always brings you can start looking ahead to Independence Day.

Destination DC said there will be plenty of new ways to enjoy the Fourth of July around the DMV including a handful of rooftop bars that have opened in the past year that will allow many people to enjoy the fireworks display in an exciting way.

There are no reported estimates of how many visitors came to Washington DC for the Memorial Day holiday weekend but in about a week Destination DC will be able to estimate how full local hotels were as a result of Rolling Thunder, events at Arlington National Cemetery and many more ways that area residents and visitors paid tribute to the men and women lost in military conflicts.
