UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal shooting in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Metropolitan Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 3700 block of Ely Place, Southeast on Thursday.

At approximately 3:23 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to a call for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, police located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and determined that the individual was deceased.

The decedent has been identified as 28-year-old Sheldon Kevin Robinson of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.  Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
