OAKLAND, Calif. (PIX11) — A goat named Mr. G has been reunited with his best friend Jellybean after the goat became depressed and stopped eating.
The goat and burro were discovered living on a property with a woman who could “barely take care of herself, let alone the dozens of dogs she hoarded and three barnyard animals,” rescue group Animal Place said.
Animal Place was one of two sanctuaries offering to help Mr. G and Jellybean when they were confiscated.
Both sanctuaries could only take one animal, separating the two best friends after spending years together.
No one realized how close the animals were until 10-year-old Mr. G went on a hunger strike.
The goat spent six long days laying in the corner of his stall, barely lifting his head.
Rescuers decided to bring the two lifelong friends back together.
One of the volunteers drove 14 hours to bring reunite the two.
Instead of placing the animals up for adoption, Animal Place welcome Mr. G and Jellybean as permanent residents of the 600-acre sanctuary.
